Since it seems Joymax is making weekly ban lists a permenant thing, we should step up our fight against the bots. Since the bot bans made GOLD bot traps pretty useless, we should try some HUMAN bot traps. :D In 10 minutes, I've gotten 25 bots trapped in Hotan, using the trading trick. They just stand there, dont repot, until the botter comes back and fixes it. (Which takes hours/days in some cases) If we could get a 24/7 human bot trap going on, all the bots would be forced to handgrind, or at least babysit, forcing them to quit. With the new influx of legits into the server, anyone whos bored and has free time can come and help out, even at lvl 1, unlike bot traps.

Now, theres two things a bot can do when you do the trade bug on them.

1) Disconnect. We don't want this. They will just log back in. This occurs when you spam trade too much. When you trade, dont hit trade again until the message "The request for private trade has been canceled" pops up. If you spam him too much, a message saying "The exchange has been canceled" will pop up, meaning he will disconnect in 5 seconds.

2) Freeze. We want them to do this. Once the bot stops sending you "The request for private trade has been canceled" windows, it will leave the "Applying for trade" message for about 30 seconds. Then, a message saying "Trade has been canceled due to no response from user". Once that message pops up, trade him again, until it pops up again. Then he will be officially stuck.

Dispite what the botters say, this trick STILL WORKS if they turn off exchange.

This is a great idea... Does it still only work on player bots?

Well, I haven't seen a single goldbot in Hotan to try it on. :D Stop by hotan potion lady to see the nice junk pile I made.

Just keep trading until they stop denying. Once they do, they'll just stand there for a few days doing nothing. It doesn't work on clientless goldbots, but it works on normal players. Unless they use clientless for their main ....

well if you think about it - most bots in jangan are going to be under level 25 or so

so if you get any thief around level 45 that will probably kill them 1 hit; or get multiple thiefs at lower level and mutliple splashes will do it

the only thing is that if you rely on multiple splashes to kill 1 bot, after a few minutes when you get 20 bots running out at 1 time, there will be alot getting through your blockade;

so the level required should be at least 45 for jangan bot traps and about 60 ish for dw to be most effective - of course the higher the level the more effective ~.^

So is it just trade * wait * trade * wait * trade * stop.? i assume this isnt a glitch in the game itself, just a way that the bot reads the packets or something? (not that i expect you to have any personal knowledge of the intricate inner workings of the games coding, just saying, this is something that only works on bots, and cant be done to non-botters.

So this is what I should see.
Quote:
Then, a message saying "Trade has been canceled due to no response from user". Once that message pops up, trade him again, until it pops up again. Then he will be officially stuck.

I kept thinking I would eventually get no response so i kept doing it and kept getting the "Trade cancelled no response message" so I guess he was already stuck.

I think I got it. :D
