you do both. you send and receive packets in order to be synched with the server.

As does every game you play over the internet, even browsing internet pages will do upload and download. Hell even downloading a program will do upload.

Just watch your down- /upload activity by double clicking the "two pc's connected with eachother" icon in your tray or the wireless icon (right hand side bottom of your desktop (where your clock is)).(only for windows ofcourse)

actually its both man, so you find your internet have good download speeds but slow uploads yeah you will lag ingame, some companies actually tend to cater to browsers and surfers they dont have gamers on their minds
