Usually with 'legit' plvl, the one getting power leveled is just sitting on a horse not actually taking part in the leveling process. I used to have the "someone else to have sex with your gf" thing in my sig.

From all members contributing, you can party to share EXP/SXP. In my view their is no way to "legit plevel" and if I need to level a char I will go grind, with or with out a party. The game is a MMO-grind don't forget

In this case you acknowledged it and support it. It's kind of hard not to know their botting when they constantly level for 18-24 hours a day and yeah i'm benefiting, if i said oh don't bot what do you think he'd do. and i didn't support it lol.. i don't recall me say oh yes, bot plvl rules.. i vote botters!! -.- Your paying the bot and you're condoning his actions. That is supporting them. i ain't paying, he was already plvling and said i could take advantage if i wanted, so i did. simple.

Assuming Avalon/BHA are indeed 100% legit, which that is their intended purpose, the best way to ensure you are auto sharing only with legits is to keep the party restricted to union/alliance members. Personally, I just stick with 4-man distribution parties, open to all.

What was the Quota glitch? I don't remember that one. I would love to see an end to power leveling. I think it's pretty obvious, by the "the difference in level can be no more than 5 levels and there is a maximum of 8 members" part that Joymax did not intend to introduce power leveling into the game, and that it was just a poor implementation on the part of the developers. I remember when the advertisements came out about the new party system, they stated the +/- 5 level restriction, but it never got implemented properly. So would this be considered a bug? Are power levelers abusing the bug?

(im scared to plvl now because im so scared of being scammed) Hey now the scamming goes both ways....I plevel to keep me income coming in to buy pots while i lvl up my alternate char. Lots of noobs try to exchange me 500k then i press accept, and then.... 1) The exchange box just disappears and does not say "successful item exchange" and my gold doesn't increase 2) Somehow the scammer makes the screen say "The trade cannot be made normally" as if I would fall for that. Also the gold doesn't increase. Then one time a turk tried scamming me and say "I gave gold" bullcrap story...I kick him from party and he say party or I global scammer. I just lol'd and kept grinding. So its not just the powerlevelers that are scamming....

I think the game would begin to die even faster if they removed plvling. If someone relied on something for that long and its taken away, most would seek the next best alternative which is botting. The others would be split between players who quit or would begin to level themselves the "normal" way.
With all the different languages in the game, trying to get a functional party going is just going to be fustrating for many players. Ex. We going to have a Turkish wizard in the party, a German rogue, a French cleric, and a warrior who speaks English. It would be chaos. Thats not even factoring in the personalities of each individual. Also, just because you're a Euro character doesn't mean you have to party or even want to party. After JM changed the pot delay from 30 secs to 15 secs, Euros are just as good at soloing as Chinese characters.
The root of the problem is bots. They create the urgency for many "legit" players wanting to get to the cap as fast possible. What's the fastest way to get to the cap within the rules allowing you to effectively compete and survive in all the forms of PvP? Plvling.
There are positives and negatives to removing plvling but I think the negatives outweigh the positives. The only way to stop plvling and keep the current players is to ban all bots and keep the botting problem under control. After the bottom botting problem is under control, a fix to the party system(if they really do consider it a bug...) should then be implemented.
Personally, plvling doesn't bother me. It allows me to try out many different builds within a reasonable amount of time. I'm also a competitive player so I want to get to the cap as fast as possible to remain competitive.
Since they are sort of banning bots now, JM shoud just wipe the servers and start everyone at level 1 again...

Or: increase the exp rate by 10 There u go, ppl dont need bot or plvl anymore. It's the low exp rate the root of bots and plvl. slimshady wrote: ban all Turk IP just like Vietnamese? I suggest to ban USA IP. Coz it has more population than any other country, therefore more bots and CCFers.

I think even if they made it 100x exp rate increase, people would STILL want to bot or get power leveled. There will always be people out there that want to get to the cap as fast as possible. Instead of worrying about how fast one can possibly get to cap, they should implement new content into the game that makes it more enjoyable for people at lower levels. Put things like dungeons, tournaments, party-quests, etc, into the game that are level-restricted. Maybe have a cave or dungeon for people under lvl 20, 30, 40, 50.... More interesting quests that you can only do below lvl 40 or so. If there is more to do at lower levels, and more ways to compete with people that are near your level, there won't be as much need to race to the cap.

Quote: JM shoud just wipe the servers and start everyone at level 1 again... And that would spell the end of SRO for many players. I think, as you said; JM does need to do a wipe but they also need to condense the servers to a manageable number. Such as 5, they should then perform a database wipe. At this point, the botting problem is irreversible without extreme measures.

I am in no way for or against plvling...just giving something for everyone to think about.
When you are 7x+ a legit party is much easier to come by. The temptation to plvl (or bot) is there regardless because everyone knows the majority of the parties and guilds are at that level. I do not bot, nor have I or will ever bot, but yes I have been plvled, mostly because I'm trying to catch up to 2 RL Friends that are lvl 38 and lvl 42 respectively. After that I have no temptation to be plvled because I want to play with my friends.
Some higher lvl players are very alienating towards new players, I myself having only played this char and only so far have gotten to lvl 30, I know what it is like to be shrugged off as another nub. What most of us need from our guildmates, friendship and guidance, we are not getting because we are not high enough level or have enough experience in SRO to be able to contribute much to the guild or union. BHA has been awesome, especially SuicideGirl and Axe007, others have been less than friendly. *Tenacious D moment* We just all need to take the friendship test =)
If we want to get rid of plvling and botting we first need to admit that the temptation is there for low levels to catch up to the high levels to be able to participate by plvling or botting. I just want to play the game, make some new friends, and hopefully make it to 9x or beyond...and I don't want to plvl to do it. Understand that we are all playing the same game toward the same goal for the same reasons.
just my rant

Not everyone in Avalon is like that. I haven't met any botters (or supporters) in the guild yet. Everyone's always party grinding on Roc Mountain while I'm soloing in asia. Just because there may be a few "bad kids" in the union doesn't mean we're all like that.
