hi guise,

not too long ago i bought a nas, which i'm currently using as
a mediaserver at my place. i want to use its cloud functionality
as well, which means i have to forward 3 ports: 80, 430 and 50500.

i forwarded them on my router, but for some reason it won't budge.

for information, i have an iomega ix4-300d server, and a netgear
wnr3500v2 router. anyone have had issues with port forwarding
and can tell me how to get it to work?

thanks in advance!

will that overwrite my own router firmware, or is it an addition?

Are you sure exactly the same? Down to the version and model? Because it's on compatible with v2 and not v1

ok so i bricked 1 router and the other one broke when i turned it on
(probably because it was laying in my leaking previous car for about
2 years). i managed to unbrick the other router through tftp and got
dd-wrt working on it, but for some reason it just won't work smoothly
with my modem. so i decided to remove the router and open the ports on
my modem/router straight to the nas instead of to the router, and now
it all works fine. i'm just lacking abit of extra security now with the fully
managable router in between.. but i don't care because i can use my cloud
now.

oh and i also learned a lot about routers. :sohappy:
